WCJC is Proud To Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

WCJC is proud to support breast cancer awareness and research! During the month of October, we will match donations in our office to the Susan G Komen foundation for breast cancer research (up to 2500$) for a GOAL DONATION of 5000$!

The women of WCJC want to help Susan G. Komen save lives and end breast cancer forever. We are committed to the goal of a world without breast cancer by raising funds to stop this disease that affects 1 in 8 women during their lifetime.
As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.

You can make a donation online toward our WCJC goal in one of the following ways:

YOUR BEST BREAST CANCER PREVENTION STRATEGY IS EARLY SCREENING

Yearly Exams Are Important

Good health is a partnership between the health care provider and the patient. Having a yearly check-up, before you have a problem, is a great way to build a relationship with your provider. At your routine yearly exams, your provider will review your individual risk factors for breast cancer, and other disease, and help you make a screening plan based on your risks.

Routine Mammograms Prevent Advanced Disease

Routine mammograms are the best tool to detect breast cancer at an early stage when treatment is most successful. 64% of breast cancer cases are diagnosed at a localized stage (there is no sign that the cancer has spread outside of the breast), for which the 5-year survival rate is 99%.
Screening mammograms start at age 40 for most women but some with a family history require earlier screening. You DON’T NEED AN ORDER from your physician for a routine screening mammogram! You can call and schedule one yourself TODAY!
