Dr. Carla Burford was drawn to OB-GYN for the big moments—but it’s the relationships built between those moments that make her love her work.
She considers it a privilege to help patients welcome a baby, navigate a difficult diagnosis, or finally find relief from symptoms that have affected their everyday lives. As a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, she values the opportunity to care for the same patients over many years.
Spanish is her first language, and she especially enjoys helping Spanish-speaking and Hispanic patients feel at home in their care. She also has a particular interest in serving LGBTQ patients and supporting teenagers through pregnancy, with space for honest questions and conversations without judgment.
In the operating room, Dr. Burford appreciates the precision of robotic-assisted laparoscopic surgery and tailoring surgical care to each patient’s needs.
Outside of Work
About Dr. Carla Burford
Outside of medicine, life with four young children keeps her busy and gives her a deep appreciation for the many ways families grow. She loves spending time with her family, discovering new restaurants, and slowing down long enough to spot a bird she hasn’t seen before.
